Francisco Gimeno - BC Analyst Is it true nobody wants to work anymore? Or maybe there are some reasons why this narrative is growing. The only thing we can be sure is that there are some concerning trends in the Western world in job market, both negative and positive. Some blame the parental enablement which make young people to remain home up to their 30s, living under parent umbrella, with lack motivation and effort, some blame the world situation with huge housing access problems and bad economy in a word which is being transformed by technology particularly AI. Add burnout and stress, a sense that there is no fair compensation or a purpose in any job positions. And a lack of awareness that together with the challenges there are opportunities, like new opportunities online and in entrepreneurship. In short, there is a lot of pessimism here, even a world ethic crisis, in an environment where employment needs a systemic change. Which just be approached holistically, considering all factors. We personally think humans need to be active to get a better life, and be passionate about what we are doing. And in a world where the physical and the digital are more and more enmeshed (the physical world) we need to be more flexible, creative and proactive instead of blaming economy or the boomer generation or the present problems. What's your take? Are we facing a work ethic crisis, or is it time for a systemic change in how we approach employment?
