  Francisco Gimeno - BC Analyst There are some risks to crypto, starting with the actual situation where scams and frauds are rampant. But the biggest risk is any disruptive tech which can outsmart the tech behind crypto (using binary code), like QC (Quantum Computing)which literally may decrypt anything encrypted including crypto information. The challenge would be to develop a new kind of crypto or another way to do what crypto originally aimed, empower people and change economy and finance where only those in the know, in power and control get the benefits. Meanwhile, QC will be the biggest risk to the present iteration of crypto... but also to banking... to institutions where encrypted data is essential... the military complex... in fact quantum computing is a risk to everything, but a risk where we have to be prepared, not scared (unless the Quantum Computer race is won by an authoritarian or not freedom friendly country. Add AGI, and then we will have issues!). However, Quantum Computers is a slow scalable technology by now (unless AI changes this) so we should have time to prepare both technologically and in the debate of expectations, ethical and moral problems of data security and safety.
